The EFSA has published a new guidance on how to assess the safety of nanoscience and nanotechnology applications. The guidance gives practical suggestions on the types of testing that are needed and the methods that can be applied. It covers the application areas within EFSA’s remit, e.g. novel foods, food contact materials, food/feed additives and pesticides.
